As the saying goes, there’s no show business like show business, and it’s easy to see why the entertainment industry is so attractive to job-seekers. The field covers a wide area and involves everything from music and films to theatre and dance. While there are plenty of jobs for performers, limited vacancies behind the scenes do exist, with money to be made for managers, agents, talent spotters, promoters, and producers, among others.
For the latter mentioned roles, high level people-management skills are required as those performers and presenters handing over their trust must be made to feel as though they are in safe hands that are capable of taking them to the very top. A huge amount of self-belief and confidence is required at all times for just about anyone working in the entertainment industry.
Median salaries in Canada for those involved in the field vary depending on skills and the level that the individual is working at. Those only just finding their feet sometimes have to find additional employment to make ends meet. While difficult to gauge, an average salary for an entertainment manager is C
$30,000.
