Sponsorship

Sponsorship is an integral part of business as sponsors and advertisers must be found for any organization. Professionals within the industry usually work for non-profit companies, as well as sports teams and artistic organizations like local theatres or community service groups.
Responsibilities include soliciting businesses and companies into sponsoring employers, creating and executing marketing or sales plans, and creating grant proposals for potential prospects. Other departments within the company must be collaborated with while coordinating advertising materials must be created. Quite often, events must also be created and planned to raise awareness.
Potential candidates interested in a role in sponsorship must have a bachelor's degree along with some experience in corporate fundraising. To enjoy success in a role in this industry, time management and strong sales skills are essential.
Entry level salaries start at around C
$20,000; however, several years of experience and career progression can see managers in Canada making a national average of around C
$61,000.
