A main duty that comes with the position of sales associate is to provide care and attention to customers, connecting with their needs and asserting high quality service to improve sales. A person in this position is typically responsible for handling purchase exchanges and transactions using cash registers and credit card machines.
A sales associate must have an outgoing personality and understand specific retail trends to assist customers. Interpersonal skills need to be strong and communication skills must be outstanding. An ability to operate tools for monetary/goods transactions is a plus.
A person in this role generally does not need to acquire degrees or diplomas to apply for a position. Most companies do require a high school certificate or its equivalence, and experience is certainly a benefit. Nevertheless, many companies offer continual, up-to-date training to help improve a worker in this position. Salaries are usually in the low C
$20,000’s for full time candidates; less for part time roles.
