The primary role of a person in retail sales is to provide high quality customer service as outlined by company standards and policies to help generate sales. A candidate for this position will work closely with colleagues and company management. Most applicants are required to work cash registers and credit card processors.
Having an outgoing personality, an ability to communicate and actively listen to customers, excellent interpersonal skills, and team working skills are all important if retail sales associates are to be successful. Although the working hours are generally regular, candidates must be willing to work on their feet for most of the day.
Having a degree of some description is always beneficial but certainly not required for these positions.
