Red Cross

Working for the British Red Cross can give job holders immense personal satisfaction knowing they are a part of the world’s biggest humanitarian organisation. Fundraisers and team leaders for the society play a vital role in helping it to raise donations for global catastrophes and aid projects.
Although the Red Cross has lots of volunteer fundraisers out on the streets and workers in its shops, it also has teams of paid fundraisers. The principal duty of salaried fundraisers is to explain the aims of the organisation to members of the public and encourage them to give to deserving causes. Applicants for these positions are usually expected to meet set targets for donations.
Workers for the charity in the UK do not need formal school qualifications. The job is suitable for outgoing, honest and generous individuals. The foundation prefers incumbents to possess first-rate communication skills and to be self motivated
Applicants offered full-time roles can expect a starting salary of £14,500 a year, which is reviewed regularly. Part-time posts pay between £8.50 and £11.00 an hour. Incumbents will usually be based in large cities such as Leeds, Bristol and Cambridge, but may be expected to travel to regional destinations with their teams.
