Quality Manager

A quality manager plays an important part in the success of Canadian manufacturing operations. The dedication and attention to detail of individuals who have taken on this role is vital in ensuring company products comply with client specifications and international standards.
Quality managers are expected to develop, implement and revise standards of production and supervise onsite quality assurance operatives and inspectors. Successful applicants have overall control of the manufacturing process and need to ensure relevant inspections are performed, company employees are trained to the correct standards, and that safety procedures are in place.
Prospective candidates need a Bachelors degree and an extensive background in the field. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, report writing, Microsoft Windows products and auditing are needed for most vacancies. Incumbents need to be self-starters and possess excellent motivation and communications skills.
There are openings throughout the country, with most concentrated near cities such as Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax. As manufacturing operations often run 24/7, job holders may be required to work shifts. Annual salaries vary between C
$55,000 and C
$95,000.
