One of the roles within the IT field is a tester, otherwise known as a Qa. The role sees a number of users test run an application, service or product in a real-life environment, reporting back to the developers any difficulties faced or bugs that need attention before a final version of the software is released.
Qa positions in IT generally involve professionals within the industry to test the software and provide feedback on its useability, giving a detailed analysis of the functionality and any errors when using the program.
Testing positions are sometimes open to members of the public, whereby a small number of users may be permitted to use a trial version or a beta, which may have some known bugs that can be updated when the final version of a software package is ready for release.
Qualifications for Qa positions vary, as some may require a detailed report from an industry expert, while others may simply require feedback from members of the public. Payment is generally made to experienced IT professionals on a per project basis.
