Project manager construction involves planning and organizing daily operations. Duties include organizing construction budgets and schedules. Persons in this job are responsible for monitoring progress and reviewing data. Other responsibilities include drawing up and negotiating contracts.
Project manager construction oversees the purchase of materials and the implementation of safety regulations. In addition, they are responsible for submitting reports and choosing trade subcontractors. Applicants need a high school certificate and a college diploma or technical training. They may be required to have a Professional Engineer Certification and a Construction Trade Certification. It is essential to have transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Candidates need to have experience in the construction industry and some companies may ask for a minimum of five years’ experience. They need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and to cope under pressure. They should be able to meet tight deadlines and have an eye for detail. Salaries for this position are in the range of C
$45,000 at an entry level, and this increases with experience.
