A Cfp is a financial institution’s certified financial planner. This role is particularly important in times of economic uncertainty since the job holder will help to provide clarity and direction in terms of offering financial advice.
A Cfp will advise businesses and individuals regarding their financial dealings, including pension plans, insurance policies, investments and other finances. They will meet with their clients in order to understand their current financial situations and to help them to produce a plan and forecast for the future.
The role of the job holder is to analyze the assets of their clients in terms of their cash flow, liabilities and taxes, and insurance coverage. They must be knowledgeable and able to adjust plans during life changes such as marriages, deaths, children and retirement. They may work independently or on behalf of a financial institution, such as a bank.
It is expected that the job holder will have a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the financial sector and most institutions will require that applicants have acquired certification as a certified financial planner.
