Gatineau
Gatineau is a city in western Quebec, Canada. It is the fourth largest city in the province. It is located on the northern banks of the Ottawa River, immediately across from Ottawa, Ontario, and together they form Canada's National Capital Region. Ottawa and Gatineau comprise a single Census Metropolitan Area. Gatineau had a population of 242,124, and metropolitan population of 1,130,761, as of the 2006 census. In 2009 it had an estimate population of 301,416, and metropolitan estimate of 1,220,674. Gatineau is coextensive with a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and census division (CD) of the same name, whose geographical code is 81.
