A Personal assistant is usually responsible for clerical duties for example filing, sending emails, answering phones and organising meetings. Other responsibilities may include making travel arrangements and preparing reports. Personal assistants can also be asked to conduct research and prepare presentations for their employers.
Applicants need technological skills to work with office equipment, such as computers and copiers. Knowledge of setting up telephone conferences and word processing software is essential. Candidates need to have multi-tasking and problem solving skills and the ability to think on their feet. This position requires flexibility, and good time management skills are necessary in order to coordinate and manage the employer’s schedule.
