Leasing

Leasing consultants are also called leasing agents. Their main job is to lease and show empty land or residential apartments to potential tenants. These consultants also interview potential tenants, complete lease forms, and collect payments of rent from tenants who have signed their leases. This is a sales position requiring excellent customer service skills as well as the ability to build relationships and meet goals. These consultants may also help people find places to live in specific areas, try to meet the needs of people who live in their properties, and perform maintenance or administrative duties.
Following real estate trends and current news is also important in order for leasing consultants to determine fair and accurate property prices. Basic legal knowledge is also an asset as this career requires a fair amount of paperwork filled with technical details. Good networking and negotiation skills are also essential in this profession. University degrees in business, property management, or other related fields are strongly recommended to succeed in this field where the average annual salary is slightly more than £34,452.
