The job holder responsible for the internal audit within a financial institution plays a key role in ensuring that all records which involve money are accurate. Auditors are responsible for examining tax forms, financial management procedures and cash transactions.
An internal audit involves the identification of issues such as bankruptcy and fraud. Persons in this role within an organization are responsible for ensuring that the company follows all guidelines and regulations.
Auditors are required to possess excellent skills in mathematics and they should be able to communicate effectively as they will often be required to interact with senior managers. A highly analytical and organized approach to work is paramount, along with excellent attention to detail.
An applicant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting will be favoured for this role, although many organizations will consider applicants with a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as mathematics, finance or accounting. The salary for this role can range from C
$45,000 to C
$70,000.
