Inspector

An insurance claims inspector is required to work on behalf of an insurance firm and look into claims made by policy holders. They are also responsible for supplying a policy holder with the services which may be needed to rectify a situation, such as a reputable tradesperson in the event of property damage
A claims inspector differs from a loss adjuster in that they are usually employed by a single insurance firm. A loss adjuster normally deals with a number of companies on more complex jobs. Inspectors are in charge of negotiating any payments to be made to clients as well as investigate claims thoroughly to make sure they are in no way fraudulent. These individuals also see the claims process through to settlement
Most employers will look for a degree in subjects such as management, economics, mathematics or law. Applicants should have good problem solving skills, be analytical and well-organised. A typical salary starts at £25,000 per year, increasing with experience.
