Foreman
Supervising the shop, dock or factory floor, the foreman will report to the supervisor of equipment and ensure that all policies, regulations and maintenance standards are being met. Responsibilities include operating the Equipment Management System (EMS), performing repair estimates, planning and prioritize materials and workload for employees and managing inventories.
The candidate will have exceptional knowledge of working on the floor, dealing with staff and clients, as well as excellent English written and verbal skills, for reports. Training new staff and mentoring less experienced ones is also part of the role. In most cases, the foreman must be physically fit and have endurance to see through on-call duties, night-shifts and odd-shift patterns. Monitoring of employees' holidays and work hours also falls to the foreman.
A minimum of six years’ experience, a high school diploma, a journeyman certificate, and relevant mechanical or technological experience and certificates is required, as is a first aid and CPR certification. The average annual salary for a foreman in most parts of Canada is around C
