Fashion Designer

Fashion is very much a part of today’s society and a skilled fashion designer can quickly become a living icon. Helmut Lang and Ralph Lauren, who both entered the style business with basic offerings, are prime examples of this phenomenon.
With the advent of computer technology and the widespread availability of internet access, fashion designers are able to display their creations to audiences all over the word. In Canada there are a number of websites where style creators show their artistic inventions. Many of the clothing and accessories manufacturers in the country also employ their own fashion designers.
While employment in the clothing industry is not as glamorous as owning your own label it does offer the chance to create and a regular income. Higher salaries are available to style setters with degrees from recognised universities. Experience of working with software such as Siemens PLM, Java FX, Adobe or Microsoft Silverlight allows applicants to easily obtain a job in the industry. While annual salaries in this competitive field vary considerably, an assistant employed at an apparel manufacturer in Montreal or Quebec is usually offered a starting salary of C
$30,000.
