Business managers must be able to multi-task on a daily basis. These individuals are responsible for a company’s success, and they are required to know the ins and outs of the business in order to attract new customers and sustain financial prosperity. They are also expected to support staff and enforce company rules in order to keep the business moving forward.
The duties of a business manager vary from field to field; but the vital function of a manager is to act as a means of support for other staff members. The job holder is also expected to plan, direct, and coordinate all operations within a business, while developing and enforcing policies. These individuals are also held accountable for the accuracy of a company’s financial records and budgeting of supplies and resources.
In order to secure this position, interested applicants should hold at least a BA, MA, or an MBA and have at least two years’ experience in a managerial role. Employers look for candidates with excellent people skills, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Depending on experience in the field, business managers can make anywhere between C
$40,000 and C
$130,000 per annum.
