Bank Analyst

A bank analyst plays a vital role in supporting asset managers, risk managers and product specialists within the banking sector. Their primary function is to support the banking team, and many bankers begin their careers with a banking firm in the role of an analyst.
The responsibilities of a bank analyst include supporting management by providing information regarding financial statements, financial models and internal meetings with key bankers. Day-to-day tasks include writing proposals, compiling weekly updates and newsletters, and creating prospectuses. A major part of the analyst’s role is to compile research on market trends and developments within a specific sector, and putting together presentations in their expert area.
The role requires that the job holder possesses good problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task. Communication skills and the ability to present work to management are key to this role. The job holder will be expected to possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, administration or a similar discipline. Analysts usually receive specific in-house training for their specific sector.
The average salary for this role is around C
$55,000 and some analysts can earn as much as C
$70,000 with annual bonuses.
