Yoga
Yoga is a thriving industry which is growing in popularity by the year. It is normally practiced in private studios and fitness centres by people searching for a gentle form of exercise to improve their health but also to have a low-impact, balanced, full-body workout.
The primary role in relation to practical involvement in the industry is as an instructor. The position involves teaching movements and principles. Instructors must be familiar with the asanas (yoga postures), as well as relaxation and breathing techniques. They are responsible for developing class format and routines in order to reach maximum fitness benefits for the students.
To achieve instructor level, a yoga certification is required. This certification can be achieved by training under someone who is already certified. To reach this level, it can take anything from 100 to 500 logged hours with an instructor.
Due to the rapidly increasing popularity of yoga, instructors are in high demand and often some are taken on without the necessary requirements. Classes are normally paid at a flat rate, with the possibility of bonuses based on the amount of people at classes. Instructors at fitness centres make between C
