Supply Chain

Jobs in the supply chain sector consist of consultant, analyst, head of operations and managerial positions. The supply chain manager is responsible for the development, planning and logistics that are involved with processing goods from raw materials to sales items.

Duties include ensuring that the process is efficient, on schedule and cost effective. Planning involves the production, inventory control and distribution of goods. The manager reviews these processes to ensure that they are compliant with the goals of the company.
This employee is involved in cost reduction processes, such as sourcing low cost raw materials from suppliers and negotiating the best deals. Other responsibilities for this position include team building, which involves developing, mentoring and assisting staff members.
Communication skills are essential in order to relay information to line managers and other team members. Supply chain positions require leadership and strong interpersonal skills. Salaries are in the range of
$90, 000 a year.
