Structural Engineer

The role of a structural engineer is to write up design documents in a detailed and specific manner according to the industry standards and within the company's guidelines. The candidate should have excellent reviewing skills for project documents and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
The structural engineer is required to maintain existing customer relationships and to develop new ones. Being a mentor to the designers and less experienced engineers in the group is also required, as well as coordinating other team members.
The structural engineer should be educated to graduate or at least undergraduate level in civil or structural engineering and be APEGGA registered. At least five to 10 years of construction experience and five years’ experience in oil sands/oil and gas is also expected. The engineer should be proficient in all MS Office programs, while AutoCAD is a bonus, and should have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Although pay is based on current market standards and experience, the average salary in Calgary or Saskatoon regions is C
$65,931.
