Peace Officer

A career as a peace officer requires excellent interpersonal skills, as officers are often dealing directly with the general public. Possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills is also essential in this job. Peace officers have to be able to deal decisively and appropriately in challenging and risky situations according to legal procedures.
Other skills required include having a good working knowledge of computer software applications. Peace officers also need to be able to work as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is a confident and decisive attitude.
There are no particular qualifications required for this role, although it is expected for applicants to have completed high school successfully. After an initial test of an applicant’s physical fitness and ability, candidates then progress onto a program of formal training. The average salary for this job is C
$45,000 per annum.
