Mechanic
A mechanic is a highly skilled and practical individual. A mechanic can work either privately or within car dealerships where they may specialise in certain types of vehicles, such as HGV, specialist or vintage cars.
In general, a typical mechanic will be able to fix most automobiles; however, some modern cars will need specialised mechanics that are trained to use special diagnostic equipment in order to find out what needs repairing on the car, whether mechanical or electrical. Proficiency in computer aided tools is sometimes needed in these roles.
It is important to be analytical and capable or solving problems that may arise. This job also requires physical strength on occasion, so the candidate should be both fit and healthy.
Employers will seek mechanics that have had previous vocational training in a further education college. To work in a more specialised garage, qualifications above the standard vocational training will be expected. The salary for this position ranges between C
$25,000 and C
$65,000.
