Law Enforcement

A career in law enforcement requires the ability to follow strict legal rules and procedures, the ability to act decisively in conflict situations and the ability to deal with the public using excellent interpersonal skills. A good working knowledge of the law is essential. Another skill that maybe required is having the ability to supervise a team.
The ability to keep accurate records and produce reports is also essential for a career in law enforcement. A good standard of written and verbal communication skills is required, as well as being able to work with relevant computer applications.
Applicants are expected to have successfully completed high school and obtained qualifications in the relevant field. A test of the applicant’s level of fitness and physical ability is required, and successful applicants will have to undergo a program of formal training. The average salary for law enforcement ranges from C
$30,000 to C
$90,000, depending on the level of experience needed.
