Human Resources

One of the major positions at a company is human resources. While many perceive the responsibility of those working in HR as solely hiring and firing, they also deal with handling job references, administering employee benefits and training. HR departments have changed significantly throughout the past 20 years, from primarily clerical-based teams to those who handle all the staffing requirement for major corporations.
Possibly one of the most important positions within the HR department is that of a human resources manager. A manager in the HR department must be well-presented and have a high-level of interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a people from different backgrounds. People working in the HR department of a company must also ensure that the company’s polices adhere with local and national laws.
Qualifications for an ideal candidate generally involve a four-year Bachelors degree in a related discipline, such as psychology. Salary depends on the size of the company, with large multinational corporations paying upwards of C
$100,000 per year for a top human resources manager. Entry level positions generally fetch around C
$44,000 a year.
