Engineering Manager
One of the prime roles in any technical and engineering business is the engineering manager. Strong leadership qualities, management skills and the ability to adapt, digest and evaluate information and then provide key decisions is paramount.
Responsibilities include running, organizing and developing an engineering team, as well as training, monitoring and assessing employee performances against current targets. Testing and calibrating equipment, ensuring compliance with the company's regulations and policies are met, are also part of day-to-day activities. The candidate will lead the processes across the facility's floor and address senior management with performance figures.
The engineering manager is also responsible for contractors, the handling of any media and for providing feedback to any IT and technical employees. It is essential to have at least five years’ experience in a similar role and to be HNC or degree qualified in manufacturing, mechanical or a related engineering subject. Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies, MS Office, environmental testing and climatic or vibration testing equipment and computing skills is a must.
