Electrical Estimator

Electrical estimators are required to estimate the cost of projects including labour, materials, general expenses and overheads. Other duties may include preparing and maintaining information about suppliers and contractors.
Applicants are required to have a high school certificate and CEGEP college training. It is essential to have an Electrician Trade Certification as well as a valid driver’s license. Applicants should have their own transportation and be available to visit sites. Candidates should have the ability to read, write and speak English. Electrical estimators need to have the skills to read and analyze blueprints as well as drawings.
This job requires employees to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure to meet deadlines. Attention to detail is essential and interpersonal skills are required in order to work within a team. Candidates need problem-solving, critical-thinking and organizational skills. Duties include planning tasks and researching information as well as writing documents. An average salary for this position is C
$18 per hour.
