Distribution Manager

Someone working as a distribution manager must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively, since his or her role of overseeing an organization’s supply chain typically involves a fairly complex network of entities, including suppliers, vendors, customers, employees and senior management.
Duties associated with this post depend on the type of distributor, although often include allocating staff and resources, dispatching tasks, monitoring costs and efficiency levels in reference to shipping, as well as mediating between suppliers, customers, senior managers and third-party distributors and general logistical ad hoc tasks.
Employers typically prefer jobseekers with a degree in logistics or supply chain management, although often there are no formal education requirements and experience is by far the most prominent determining factor.
A distribution manager working in Canada will typically see a salary of between
$40,000 and
$85,000 per annum. Figures are correlated primarily to experience and the size of the firm. The national average in recent years has hovered around
$60,000 per annum.
