Delivery

People working in delivery are essential to the retail and manufacturing industries, among others, and must consistently demonstrate the ability to efficiently work with little supervision whilst adhering to essential safety standards.
Drivers are the most common personnel associated with this field. However, there is also a consistent need for managers, dispatching agents and distribution specialists. In addition to transporting and properly handling products and equipment, some posts may require additional skills and/or training in regards to product installation and assembly, customer service, and material handling. Additional common requirements include a clean driving record, a commercial drivers license, forklift certificate and/or a personal vehicle. Formal educational requirements may be necessary for supervisors and managers, though experience is generally the best asset to have.
Most delivery professionals in Canada typically earn between
$15,000 and
$45,000 per annum, depending on experience and applicable skills/requirements in regards to vehicle operation and product installation. Managers usually see figures from about
$35,000 per year to in excess of
$80,000 per year for highly experienced professionals employed by major firms.
