Bank Teller
A bank teller plays a key role within a bank’s branch in terms of handling financial transactions efficiently and accurately, while providing superior customer services at all times.
The key duties of a bank teller include: the ordering, receiving, verifying and distribution of cash; the opening of new accounts for customers and the authorising of their access to current and savings accounts; the promotion of the bank’s products and services while using every opportunity to cross-sell services; problem-solving on behalf of customers; the balance of cash figures at the end of the working day.
The job holder is expected to possess the ability to multi-task and problem-solve. They should be presentable and good with people. Expectations in terms of qualifications vary between banks, and usually a high school diploma is enough to qualify for the position as most banks will provide all the training required.
The average salary for this role is between C
$25,000 and C
$30,000, with an annual bonus of around C
$1,000.
