Asset Management

Someone working in asset management must possess the ability to produce financial results and succeed in asset enhancement. Individuals must be extremely goal-driven and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should be self-motivators and able to work independently, as well as demonstrate proficiency in computers and industry-related software. Furthermore, the applicant must have sharp analytical skills and be good with numbers.
The primary function in asset management is to guard assets which are owned or leased/subleased by a person or an organisation, while analysing the viability of any further acquisitions. This person also negotiates, implements and monitors various asset programs, and is expected to increase revenue and values via efficiencies and savings. The manager must also prepare reports and carry out research to determine any potential revenue losses and loan delinquencies.
Employers require individuals to hold at least a high school diploma, but most require candidates to possess a Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business. Most people in this field earn between C
$54,000 and C
$90,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.
