Architectural Technologist
An architectural technologist or an architectural draftperson is responsible for the coordination and documentation of construction projects. They work as part of a team of architects and project managers. Their duties include documenting a project for construction and assisting with the co-ordination of team members.
An architectural technologist uses computer programs such as CAD and BIM packages. They are required to be competent in the drafting program that their company uses. Educational requirements are a degree in architecture, while candidates with a degree in architectural drafting can also apply for this position. Previous experience with construction work is beneficial.
Applicants should have an understanding of architectural design and extensive knowledge of building code requirements as well as of construction. They need to be capable of working under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines. Applicants should pay attention to detail and be able to complete repetitive tasks. The salary for this role is typically between C
