Account Manager
An account manager must be dynamic and entrepreneurial with a proven record of managing account relationships and securing customer loyalty. The role requires an individual who is performance orientated, consultative and can interact comfortably with different levels of management.
Duties of the role include overseeing all accounts and ensuring that employees are kept motivated. It is important to understand the guidelines, policy and overall mission of the company. A requirement of the position may often be to give a demonstration and explain the services and products which are sold, to both the sales team and potential consumers.
It is important to possess a certain level of math skills in order to maintain a financial budget and perform tasks such as working out commissions. Other skills include being organised, resilient, professional, approachable, flexible and upbeat. Basic computer skills are also generally a requirement in today’s world.
A Bachelors degree in business, sales or marketing is required. In addition, two or more years of interactive marketing or advertising exposure, or five or more years in a similar position could be expected. In Canada, the salary for an account manager can range between C
