Those seeking a treasury job will generally need to have a bachelor’s degree in finance or a related subject like economics or accounting, though other majors like liberal arts are sometimes accepted in lower positions. In Canada, official certification, such as a CTP, is necessary. Senior-level posts including cash-management officers, treasury directors and corporate treasurers often have a master’s in investment analysis.
Salaries typically begin in the upper C
$60,000 range and extend to about C
$130,000 for those in upper management posts.
