A superintendent is required in a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing and maintenance. This position requires leadership and interpersonal skills. Communication skills are essential for dealing with disputes and liaising with team members. Applicants should have problem solving skills and have strong logical capabilities.
Responsibilities include ensuring that other staff members are performing effectively and meeting their job requirements. Duties can also include enforcing company policy and dealing with compliance issues. The function of a superintendent is to monitor the activity of other employees and ensure that the goals of the company are being met.
Superintendants investigate the reasons behind other employee’s unsatisfactory performance by communicating with the employee and reviewing their duties. This can involve mentoring, coaching or disciplinary action.
This position may require implementing performance appraisals every year to highlight the areas where improvement can be made. Salaries are in the range of C
