Senior managers earn among the highest salaries in their companies and generally have a team of staff to support them. They characteristically travel regularly between their corporation's national and international offices to observe business operations and meet with staff. Their authoritative position requires them to have resource management skills, leadership qualities and superb communication skills, and they must be analytical.
Senior managers are responsible for envisioning the future of their company and implementing plans to direct their employees to ensure its achievement. They manage the company’s operations and make sure that their employees have the resources needed for them to successfully execute their jobs.
They are required to set the annual budget and to supervise expenses throughout the year. They must also establish organizational compliance and control standards to guarantee that their staff follows ethical business practices. In addition, managers must construct their company's image through interacting with customers, community organizations, employees and government officials.
For this position, candidates are expected to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business management or administration. A good grasp of languages also benefits them when interacting with the international branches of their industry. A typical salary would be between C
