Sales Executive

A sales executive must possess the knowledge and capabilities to deliver a wide range of company services and products to clients, so as to increase company profits. Most may work with a marketing director to prepare quotations and proposals, build up new business and to win contracts. They may work in industries such as financial services, consumer goods and computer technology.
Responsibilities in the position include indentifying and then establishing contact with potential new customers, responding to sales inquiries, delivering presentations on company products, meeting targets, and installing and demonstrating software at the sites of clients.
In the role, it is necessary to possess good customer service, communication and writing skills, have excellent organisation and problem solving skills, work under pressure and meet deadlines, have a flexible approach to work and have negotiation skills in order to deal with different types of customers.
It is generally required that someone working as a sales executive has a degree or equivalent in a sales and marketing related field. Previous experience in the field will also be beneficial. The average salary for the role varies greatly, but starting salaries should be expected to be upwards of C
$44,000, while a senior person in the role can earn in excess of C
$130,000.
