A product manager must successfully guide a team that has been given the responsibility of developing a product line. This entails maximizing the profitability of existing products and creating new products for the business. This person is expected to develop products from existing ideas, while collaborating on new ideas based on prior industry experience and interactions with customers.
This individual working in product management must demonstrate a unique blend of technical abilities and the drive to turn a vision into a reality. Candidates must enjoy analysing problems and finding innovative answers for the broader market. The role normally involves collaborating with an engineering counterpart in order to define product requirements. It also usually involves working with the marketing department to determine target customers, product positioning, and key benefits.
To be a successful candidate, the applicant should have at least three years’ of product management or marketing experience.
