Oracle Dba
The role of an Oracle database administrator, or Dba, is to ensure the smooth workings and day-to-day operations of a large database. Some of the day-to-day tasks undertaken by an Oracle Dba include creating and maintaining databases, performing ongoing tuning of database instances, as well as handling migrations of data and various changes throughout the development lifecycle.
Large corporations around the world make use of the Oracle Toolset, specifically the Oracle Database application, more commonly known as Oracle RMDBS, to store data. This data is often crucial to the everyday operations of a company, creating the need for an Oracle Dba to carry out the maintenance and ensure all systems are in working order.
Depending on the size of the company, an Oracle Dba may be required to undertake other tasks relating with the database, such as security, or the role of a database administrator may be merged into a general IT role.
Candidates for such a position are generally required to have a background in IT, in addition to passing Oracle certification examinations. The average yearly salary for the role is C
