The fast-paced field of logistics requires highly energetic personnel with the ability to adapt to a demanding environment and quickly changing conditions. With a constant need to move goods from one point to another, particularly in a rapidly globalizing world, the field continues to grow.
There are numerous positions associated with this important aspect of business; from distribution managers and warehouse associates to delivery drivers, security specialists and sales agents. Tasks can range from; organizing transport and coordinating with management, production heads and third-party vendors; to calculating time and cost, shipping and receiving duties, dispatching and preparing inventory reports.
Remuneration for those working in the field of logistics in Canada depends on the nature of each position; coordinators typically make between
$30,000 and
$50,000 per annum, whilst managers stand to make anywhere from about
$40,000 to
$90,000 per annum. CDL drivers typically make around
$40,000 per annum and warehouse workers see typical figures spanning from
$20,000 to about
$45,000 per annum.
