Investment Analyst

An investment analyst plays a key role in advising a financial organization in its investment decisions. They use a variety of methods, including analysis and reporting, to forecast economic, business, and industry conditions.
An investment analyst is likely to specialize in a specific area, such as currency, commodities, portfolio management or bonds, and will analyze financial statements and economic information to determine the state of a specific industry.
The job holder must ensure that they read financial periodicals and newspapers so that they remain up-to-date on current affairs which may influence the economy, such as natural disasters, investment products and developments in the market. The job holder will be expected to summarize their research and compile graphs and charts to illustrate their reports.
A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or a similar discipline is a requirement of most financial institutions and many seek candidates with relevant experience in the financial sector. The average salary for this role is around C
$50,000.
