Human Resources Manager
HR managers must undertake a supervisory position for a variety of tasks which take place in the human resources department of a company or corporation. Some of the tasks that a human resource manager carries out on a daily basis include the creating workplace policies, ensuring that vacant positions within the company are filled in a timely manner, and making sure complaints of a serious nature are investigated and breaches of workplace practices are met with appropriate disciplinary action.
The job holders generally delegate some of their work to other members in their team, including human resource assistants. The HR manager then monitors the work and acts as a valuable link in communication between the employees and the management team.
HR managers must have a good ability to communicate and work with staff from a wide range of backgrounds. Candidates must possess an open mind to investigate complaints, while French and English speakers are well regarded in HR positions. A university degree is usually essential, with business and managerial subjects the most attractive to employers. The salary range for a HR manager is usually between C
$30,000 and C
$50,000 a year.
