A human resources director must be highly organised with exceptional interpersonal skills. This person manages the department relating to employees and personnel of a company. The director of human resources is generally involved in creating policies, and is responsible for the hiring process. The job holder is usually the member of the management team, working with senior members of staff and HR assistants.
HR directors are in charge of delegating work and some of their down to lower team members. It is the director’s role to supervise and ensure that company targets are met with regards to staffing and salaries. The job holder is also generally involved ensuring that a company complies with a local laws and regulations.
The ability to speak both English and French is a plus for those who want to apply for this position, while a degree in business and a thorough understanding of the ins and outs of the role are essential for those who wish to succeed in this position.
