Hr

A prominent department at most companies is a role within Hr. While many view the responsibility of those working in human resources solely as firing and hiring, they are also responsible for the handling job references, training, and administering employee benefits. Hr roles have evolved greatly throughout the past 20 years, from a record-keeping position to one handling the staffing of some of Canada’s largest companies.
One major duty within the Hr department is that of a human resources manager. An Hr manager must be self-sufficient and maintain a high-level of interpersonal skills and a strong ability to work with people from different backgrounds. Human resource managers must also be well-aware of local and national laws, ensuring company adherence.
People skills are a definite requirement for anyone who wishes to work in this field, while a four-year Bachelors degree in Psychology, management or a business-related field will assist in obtaining a higher salary. Entry level positions generally start by paying around C
$44,000 per year, with some of the managerial roles in larger companies offering salaries of close to C
$100,000 a year.
