Finance Business Analyst
Many types of companies depend on a finance business analyst to audit its organizational interworkings in order to identify areas of financial inefficiency. Upon doing so, he or she will then recommend potential paths of improvement for the business model to upper management. Persons in this position are often referred to simply as a business analyst.
Areas of a company regularly audited by these individuals include marketing, accounting and sales. There are different rankings/tiers for this position and day-to-day tasks can involve working within numerous different functions of a business whilst mediating between department heads and senior managers.
Requirements for working as a finance business analyst are not set in stone and differ from industry to industry, though most firms will require at least university degree in the field of finance or a related discipline such as accounting or economics. Many will also look for several years’ experience in a successful role in the industry and some choose source entry-level BAs from within the company.
Salaries for these individuals working in Canada differ according to the industry, however figures typically begin at around C
$40,000 and those in financial industry can be in the range of C
$80,000 per year, plus bonuses.
