Entry Level Accounting Jobs

With the constant need to manage corporate, government and individual finances, there are a number of entry level accounting positions available to students and fresh graduates across Canada. These include clerks, accounts payable administrators, assistants, junior/basic accountants and more.
The primary duty in these junior-level positions is helping to maintain financial records, though the incumbent may also be expected assist with invoices invoicing, preparing reports and coordinating with vendors, customers, tax officers, bankers and supervisors or managers.
There are a number of qualifications that may be helpful or necessary to obtain a suitable position, including a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance in addition to certifications such as a CGA or chartered accountant certificate. Some junior-level accounting staff members obtain low-level positions as part of or while studying for such programs. Salaries for entry level accounting positions in Canada depend on qualifications but typically range from C$25,000 per year to about C$45,000 per year.
