Education Consultant

An education consultant is an essential component in both education and industry systems. This job can be either with the government or in the private sector, and involves program development, coordination and straight-forward education of employees and consumers.
Many of the jobs that make up this role are involved with the public education system, especially government positions. People in the position create, administer and supervise specific education programs for schools. They can also be involved with education campaigns or training programs.
Most education consultants work unsupervised, so a high degree of self-initiative and responsibility is needed. Communication is a key component of this position, as well as evaluation skills and good organization and development techniques. Most employers require advanced degrees in education, especially those hiring for local and state government jobs.
Experience also weighs heavily when applying for these types of positions, and can often offset a bachelor’s degree in education. The average salary is C
$48,000, with a low of C
$37,000 and a high of C
$61,000. Salaries are much higher for positions in large cities.
