Contracts Manager

A contracts manager must be able to work independently and have confidence in his or her ability to negotiate and secure contracts with vendors and suppliers. Many organisations need someone to fill this role in order to acquire services or products from outside sources so as to function on a daily basis.
In the position, the worker is expected to procure services or products and negotiate terms and pricing. This could involve locating a number of vendors, overseeing the contract bidding process, and then selecting vendors who fit the organisation’s requirements best.
Once selecting the vendor, the worker must review the terms and write the contract agreement, making any changes if necessary. To be suitable for the role, a Bachelors degree related to business is generally a requirement. The candidate should also possess excellent negotiation and communication skills so as to successfully carry out the duties of the work.
The average salary of a contracts manager in Canada can vary depending on experience as well as the region of the job. Generally, the role will have a minimum starting salary of C
$53,000 and can go as high as C
$160,000 in certain areas.
