Accounts receivable positions are part of the bookkeeping department, dealing with finances that are owed to the company. Employees need to be well organised and pay attention to detail. Strong mathematical skills and computer skills are essential for this position.
Key functions for this position include billing clients and processing payments. Customer service is important and employees must deal with payment inquiries from clients.
Administrative duties include mailing invoices, updating client information and filing payments. Computer work includes dealing with spreadsheets, word processing and databases.
Educational requirements for accounts receivable positions are a minimum of a university degree in a relevant field such as business, accounting or bookkeeping. Communication skills are essential in order to deal with clients on the telephone and to work as part of a team in the book keeping department. The average salary per annum is C
